MATERIALS : Watercolor on museum quality watercolor paper. Unframed, unmated by default. FRONT: Signed with initials : MS (Marta Spendowska). BACK: Signed with full name.
Most of my watercolor paintings are painted on either Fabriano or Arches or any art archival museum quality art papers, 98lb, 140lb or 300lb. I use artistic watercolors by W&N or Holbein or Graham or archival mixed media. Most of my mixed media work is painted on either paper, canvas, or on wood : in case of panel over 3/8″ these are ready to hang (no framing needed). I like the edges to be either off white. IMPORTANT: Every monitor displays color differently. If you need more details + photos before making a purchase just email me.
INSPIRATION. "Newlands" are my newest series. They are my response to living in New England and loving it with a rapid pulse and full heart. I've never planned on it—I avoided any representational style for a while (working with it only in my commercial illustrations) but after almost a year of soaking up the most gorgeous land I’ve ever seen in US, my hands wanted to experience it through the movement of my wrist. And I cried after my first Marshland was painted, all in watercolor on paper, my first love. Through NEWLANDS I explore wet lands, rivers, mudflats, marshes and the ocean. This is a new land for me, which amazes my spirit every time I walk the shore or woods. I'm staying here, so I'm documenting.
