I painted Leonora because she is usually mentioned next to & with Max Ernst, hardly ever without him.
As a teenager, influenced by magical realism (mainly Cortazar and his cigarettes, wondering around the time, life, and world, smoking, jazzing), I found her book “The Hearing Trumpet” (how still relevant…) and since then it has had a prominent place in my Polish home.
A crazy woman, like Zelda. Always loved the crazy ones…
