This is how I enter 2026.

This is the energy. Boots on the ground, literally.

Stomping the old and making sure 2026 hears me, because there is no small talk I’m willing to entertain, and no little wounds.

I say—God, the One *—give it to me, all of it: big, beautiful, loud, optimistic, tender but voracious, expansive but deep, like a ladder to heavens—vertical, stable. Give me more more more years as there is so many books to read, so many books to write (I completed the first chapter of my novella), so many paintings to paint, so many coffees and bourbons to drink, so many letters to write, so much washi tapes to overuse, so many intoxicating perfumes to drawn myself in, so many index cards to file, so many pens to ink, hanstands to improve, so many trips to Poland, again and again, to see my dad, who will live so many more years, who must, who will.

The one thing I am dropping this year is any remnant of fast. 2026 will be a year of slow and deep: slow mornings, going vertical with people and ideas, long hours with a book and a brush, and a specific practice I’d like you to learn from me at some point, so stay tuned.
